So yesterday was Valentine's Day and in honor I thought I'd go back down memory lane and recal a nice Vday memory. I was in high school my 2nd year a guy friend of mine asked to dinner for Valenines day which was sweet. We went to a local resturant his sister drove us cause neither one of us had license yet. That was a sweet 1st Vday Date.
Flash forward to 12 years later it's a few days later after Vday and friends of mine ran into this guy friend from HS...they spoke to him. Told him I said hello we had become extremely close during our HS years I missed being able to see him on the regular and hoped we would reconnect in the future. My friends ask the guy how he was being that he had just got back from fighting in the middle east. He told them to give me a kiss and hug and to let me know his military career is his life and that's all he has time for. I'm going to assume this is his way of telling me to move on, he has moved on and there will be no us in the future....ever. It was painful to hear the encounter from my friends as my heart sank into my chest. Of course my friends tried to console me and tell me I'm better off in time I'll understand I partly had a feeling we would never see or speak to each other just wish I had gotten the chance to say goodbye. I'll try to remember the fun times but not dwell in the past because my future is much to bright to be held town.
